  1. Do you accept short stories, or flash fiction, regarding
    Christian values?
I am a playwright and writer of several short stories published recently (resume available).

The email you left is not working so I have no way to contact you.
I don’t run any of the contests that I post on my blog so you’ll have to contact the people through the link I posted.
    Hope that helps!

I’m writing to you regarding my manuscript titled “Guardians of the Gate.” It is a dark, mysterious story of police Detective Bill Donovan from Buffalo, New York, I believe this would be a great film project for you. In the story Donovan begins to unravel a series of bizarre cases involving a strange new church called the Reaper Church of the New Born and its mesmerizing handsome and charming new pastor, Jim Blair.
Blair’s charismatic personality has attracted thousands of new parishioners, many ex-Catholics from the Western New York area. Blair seems to be able to weave a mysterious spell over all whom he meets. All except Donovan who has suspicions about the new pastor. Yet any who speak out against Blair, later turn up dead or disgraced into resignations from their positions.
This Reaper phenomenon has swept and taken over the entire city. Everyone soon is wearing the skeleton emblem of the Reaper. Blair seems unstoppable, because he is not human, he is in fact the anti-Christ the son of Satan, who is readying and gaining his powers for the ultimate battle of Armageddon. Detective Bill Donovan will soon discover his true destiny his calling. He is the chosen one, the only one who knows who Blair really is, and the only one that might have the newly acquired power through the sword of Archangel Michael to stop him.
The story weaves a tapestry of mystery, as Donovan slowly unravels the true facts. Then the closer he is drawn to the real horror of his worst nightmares he has been having coming to life. He soon realizes that he must become the next leader of the Guardians of the Gate, and stop the demonic, satanic warriors from entering the gate of hell to Earth.
With the latest popularity of dark theme TV shows like “Supernatural” and “Vampire Diaries” And the film “Angels & Demons” I believe that “Guardians of the Gate” will find a large audience. I will be delighted to send the manuscript to you upon your request.

  8. Do you publish work by African Writers. I am based in Zimbabwe in Southern Africa and I have many Christian manuscripts that I would like to be published

  9. I have a screenplay I’ve written about a man and his small band of friends who cope to survive amidst the chaos of the Antichrist and his followers after the prophesied rapture. Graphic violence within the reading. App. 115-120 pages typed in screenplay format. Want to see it in film, but don’t have money to register it. I live on fixed income.

  10. Hi Wendy,
I have a faith-based Christian short story called “The Windswept Clouds of Winter”. It is about a seven girl’s dream to fly a heilocopter come true, but with a somewhat dangerous twist.
At the the age of five, a brave little girl tells her father that she want’s to follow in his footsteps (and if it’s the Lord’s will) fly heilocopters.
At seven, young Talor learns that has termenal cancer.
Obidiah (her father) lost his wife during the birth of Taylor and is left by her bedside
in the hospital after been given the news.
He has a dream that very night in which the Lord instucts him to build a specilized heilocopter engineered for Taylor to fly.
Our young hero races to find out what’s on the other side of the plans that God has for her life. What no one relizes is that a story is about to transpire that will capture the worlds attention.
Wendy, I’m really need someone’s help. I need direction from someone who actually knows what they are doing. Can you help me???

  11. Hi George,
I would recommend that you get the 2013 Christian Writer’s Market (or get a slighter older version from the library). It’s got hundreds of markets to sell short stories and includes much of the writer’s guidelines. The listings also include each publication’s website to find additional information on their writer’s guidelines.
    I hope that helps!

  12. Wendy, I would like to know how do I get started working for a freelance christian base organization. I have being writing since i was a child and believe I have a very important story to tell and I have many more that will help people in various areas of their life.

  13. MWJoseph, Every organization is different. Most will want someone with some experience if they’re hiring you to write or edit, but you start as an intern or you could submit pieces to an organization’s publishing house (rather than applying for a job). Check out the 2013 Christian Writer’s Market. It’s got countless resources for writers like yourself; paying markets for short stories and essays, writing contests, Christian-focused publishing houses, etc. It also lists website and Christian-related writing groups/organizations that might be worth your consideration. Hope that helps!

  14. When I initially commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now
each time a comment is added I get four emails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove people from that service?
    Many thanks!

  15. Thanks for letting me know you’re getting 4 copies. I have an email in to WordPress to ask them how to fix it. (Sorry in advance if you all get 4 copies of this email!)

  16. Here’s what WordPress tech people wrote to me about getting multiple copies:

Depending on their type of subscription, they’ll have either
a “Manage Subscriptions” or “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email.

Please ask them to unsubscribe and try subscribing again.
