Chicken Soup call out – The Dating Game

Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Dating Game
101 Heartwarming and Humorous Stories about Looking for Love

It’s time to play the dating game! We’re looking for stories about your search for love, from first dates all the way to marriage proposals. First dates, blind dates, group dates… we want to hear about all of them. Meeting the family, embarrassing moments, break-ups and make-ups… we want all of your war stories. Did you find your perfect match online? Did you have an office romance or start a relationship with someone who was once just a friend? Other possible topics include first dates after divorce, reconnecting with a person from your past, or even simply finding your happily-ever-after where you least expected it.

Tell us everything from the great, to the bad, to the VERY bad. We are accepting stories for this book from men and women 19 years and older. The deadline for story and poem submissions is July 15th, 2013. For this book, we prefer contemporary stories from men and women of all ages, and they will be favored over stories about events that happened decades ago.

Please remember, we do not like “as told to” stories. Please write in the first person about yourself or someone close to you. If you ghostwrite a story for someone else we will list that person’s name as the author. If a story was previously published, we will probably not use it unless it ran in a small circulation venue. Let us know where the story was previously published in the “Comments” section of the submission form. If the story was published in a past Chicken Soup for the Soul book, please do not submit it.

If your story is chosen, you will be a published author and your bio will be printed in the book if you so choose. You will also receive a check for $200 and 10 free copies of your book, worth more than $100. You will retain the copyright for your story and you will retain the right to resell it.
